Overlay video Constant Loading

Hello,

I have made a aura with a video overlay in an mp4 format.
It didnt load on the app, so i decreased the quality right down to 3meg and it still just sticks on loading.

I have closed the app and re opened it and it still does the same thing?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

This is likely to either be that you have filtering on your internet connection, or that there is something unusual about the video that our video player isn't handling correctly.

If it is something to do with your internet connection, other Auras should fail to work too. Please try some Auras on this page : http://www.aurasma.com/auras.jsp and let us know whether they work.

It would be useful if you could give me a share link to the aura with the video, or alternatively you can identify it through giving your dev studio username, and the overlay / aura name. Either post here or email to support@aurasma.com

Also can you say what phone/tablet you are running the app on?

I'm using an iPhone 4 and I'm trying to laod it on 3G connection.

I have tried other auras and they all work fine.

I just tried on iPhone 4 and it worked OK.

When you say it sticks on loading - do you see a "loading" spinner? On a slower connection it may take a few seconds to buffer video before it starts.

I noticed a couple of problems with your Aura - with the simple Aura of just a logo, Aurasma will not be able to decide which way is up, since the logo is symmetric. Also you have a typo with "precision" in the video.

Yes it just comes up with the loading spinner but doesn't ever display the video.
I have left my phone loading for at least 10minutes and still no video.

This was only a test video and a quick aura to show my boss at work, but thanks for the spelling mistake.

I believe the problem is that Aurasma's video player isn't handling your video correctly because it has no audio. This problem is already fixed in development (this is why it worked on my phone before), and the fix will be included in an upcoming release.

In order that your video work right in the current version of the app, you should try converting/ reexporting it with an audio channel (even if it's silent).
